Trip to PhilPost

As what this entry's title states, it's about my adventure to Philippine Post Office along Pasay area near the domestic airport terminals coz I had to pick up the package my brother sent me. Syempre, since alam ko na malayo iyon, plano ko talaga gumising nang maaga para makaalis ako agad and makapasok ako ng office agad. Unfortunately, for some particular reason that I do not know, sobrang tinamad akong gumising and I really felt sleepy when I woke up at around 7am; so, I slept again and when I woke up, it was already 8:30am.

Since I already woke up late, I was trying to rush things at home para makaalis ako agad. I checked all the things that I had to bring: the Philpost notice card, cellphone, bag, and my wallet na may lamang P90. When I got outside, I saw the bank and I thought, "Withdraw kaya ako ng pera?" After 2 seconds of thinking, I finally decided na wag na lang since kung magpapa-gas naman ako sa Petron, I can use my mom's credit card.

Anyway, I took the C-5 route going to the airport area so dadaan yun ng Nichols. When I got to the end of the road from Nichols, naligaw ako! Parang naiba yung route to the airport galing doon so napunta ako sa main road ulit. Syempre, medyo nagpanic ako at baka mawala ako so when I saw the Cubao sign, lumiko na ako dun sa may flyover, going to EDSA pala yun. Then nung nasa flyover ako, nakita ko sa baba, may sign "To Airport" tapos may U-turn na symbol... shucks... Anyway, I just made a U-turn sa EDSA then I took the flyover going to Pasay na lang hehe.

When I got to the intersection where I was supposed to take a left turn at the Petron gas station, naisip ko bigla na magpa-gas kasi medyo ubos na rin. So I told the gas boy to fill up P500 worth of gas. Nung tapos na, I gave him the VISA credit card. So I left the car at the gas station to look for an ATM machine. So I crossed the street where I saw a UCPB bank, eh ang nakita ko Megalink ang nakalagay so umayaw ako kasi malaki kaltas. So I asked the guard kung may Metrobank, sabi niya, "Doon sa may tapat ng McDo." So I walked further sa may McDo area, then finally I saw the Metrobank building. Then when I got there sa ATM nila, may nakalagay pala "Bancnet Megalink." So I withdrew around P1,500 na para siguradong may pera ako. Bumalik ako ng gas station at nagbayad ng P500.

Ayun, tuloy na ulit adventure ko, yung Philpost, malapit lang pala dun sa gas station by car, before pa mag stoplight kaya mabilis lang, la naman traffic. When I got there, binigay ko na yung notice card nila and I waited for around 10 minutes lang naman. Then they callled my name and pinakita na sa akin yung package na video card na padala ng kuya ko. So nakita ko na and okey na, excited na akong umalis at pumasok ng office. Then the customs broker asked me, "First time mo ba pumunta dito?" Then I said, "Opo." Then he said, "Sinabi ba sayo na may babayaran kang tax para sa package?" Then I replied, "Wala po, meron po ba? Magkano?" Then he explained that there were additional fees like charges and the 12% VAT. So I checked the video card's receipt and it indicated that the card costs around $159. So the customs broker started computing the amount that I was supposed to pay. When he got back, I needed to pay them P2,305!!! Eh P1090 na lang laman ng wallet ko!!! Waaah!!! So I asked again, "Saan po ba may malapit na ATM dito?" Tapos ayun, buti meron sa may Caltex na Equitable. So nilakad ko na lang papuntang Equitable, then when I got there, sarado yung ATM!!! So I asked the guard kung saan may ATM machine, then he told me meron daw sa loob ng StarMart. When I got there, anak ng... bukas ang ATM machine!!! Thank God!!! Ayun, may IBank dun, at buti Bancnet so di malaki kaltas. Kaya I withdrew P3000 na para sigurado!!! Wahaha!!!

I went back to the PhilPost office and I paid for all the fees that I needed to pay. Even if the customs broker was kind of slow in processing my receipt, he was nice enough to chat with me. He asked if I already went to the US and that he wants to live in the US after he retires. Then he even asked me where I took my college degree, so I said Ateneo. Tapos hirit niya, "Ah, talo kayo kahapon ah, sayang." Hehe, I expected that from him anyway hehehe (pero sayang nga, talo hehehe, great game naman hehe). Then he told me na ang Ateneo raw ang isa sa mga sobrang hinahangaan niyang schools aside sa UP and Lasalle. Pero the best for him daw, Ateneo and UP hehehe. Then I even learned from him that there was a degree in Customs and meron pang board exam at license. Hehe, hindi ko kasi alam yun eh and he even showed me his License as a Customs Broker hehehe, astig. Tapos ayun, finally he handed me the package and it was time for me to get to the office. I got to the office at around 12nn na! Haha! Oh well, thanks to flexitime kaya ayos lang pumasok ng late. Hehe.

It was a very tiring day, but somehow, kahit nakakainis yung mga nangyari, ayos lang. It wasn't that bad anyway even if napagastos na ako at napagod pa ako sa kakahanap ng bukas na ATM machine hehehe. :P
